About Lorrie

Lorrie is a professional belly dance instructor and performer who has studied with local and national master instructors, including Saqra, Bahaia, Suhaila Salimpour, Karen Barbee, and Morocco of New York City. She has worked in a variety of classroom settings having taught for the YWCA, Parks and Recreation Department, Corpus Christi Athletic Club, as well as private dance studios. She has performed at the Corpus Christi Ballet’s “Bailando el aire Libre”, the Ballet Nacional’s “Noche de Gala”, many festivals including Bayfest, Windfest, Festival of the Arts, and the Ingleside Renaissance Festival . Other venues include the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, the Jewish Community Center, and many local churches and restaurants. She is a member of the Texas Coastal Bend, Houston, Austin, and North Texas Bellydance Associations. Her classes are friendly, fun, and informative. She has a true love of the dance, believing it to be an enjoyable way to gain health, both spiritually and physically. She hopes to provide an opportunity for women from all walks of life to learn the ancient art of belly dance while improving self-esteem through reconnection with their femininity and sensuality.
